We had the Echols and the McLendons over to ring in the new year. We had gumbo, with mini muffalettas. Yummy!
Audrey was so excited to be reunited with her BFF Claudia, or CC. They were quite entertaining, seeing as they have both hit the terrible two's!
We also celebrated Meryl's 30th birthday!
We took the girls outside to light some sparklers, thanks to Nana. The only problem was that our pine straw was all over the yard, so every time a piece of the sparkler fell off it would spark the pine straw. Thank goodness uncle rusty was there with his shoes on to stomp them out.
The girls had a fun time in the bath, until Audrey wanted to wash CC's hair.
Audrey thought it was a great idea to help her friend, while CC was deathly afraid of that water hitting her head! Thank goodness we were able to solve the problem before we had a CC explosion!
I have definitely discovered that our definition of party has changed over the past 5 years. This year, we had a wonderful time with friends sitting around the house, playing games, and watching the girls. Midnight couldn't come fast enough... we were all too stubborn to press record though and just go to bed at 11:00.
The next morning the girls were roaring, ready to go play!
They played house...
they finger painted...
and then had to say goodbye!
We had a great New Year's and can't wait for baby boy to join us next year!
