We went to New Orleans for Thanksgiving this year. My brothers and their families all came in town for a few days. We really only get together once a year, so we try to cherish our time together. We had Kyle and Audrey running each other ragged! They were so tired, taking 2 naps a day. Whatever one of them got, the other had to have. They are both in daycare, so they know how to stand up for themselves. Needless to say, that skill came in handy for both of them this go around.
ELMO! It didn't matter how I tried to fix her hair, it was a mess in less than an hour!
Starting to get tired....
but not from Elmo on the TV!
Audrey's First Hair Trim!!!
Audrey wasn't too keen on my idea of trimming her hair! Nor does she like me trying to fix her hair!
Food is always a good distraction though.
As her motto goes, look mom, I can do it myself!
Thanksgiving dinner!
Audrey was busy playing Zoodles on Daddy D's I-touch..
Daddy was trying to help show Audrey how to make it work.
I'm way to partial to my own daughter! She is so cute! I'm probably not supposed to say that on this thing... oh well.
I'm ready for the game Daddy!
SAINTS Game!
Way to start off Saints!!
We almost let it slip away to the Cowboys! How intense!
Oh yeah! We pulled through! Oh yeah! Do a little dance!
So, the kids were actually watching Elmo, and not the saints game...but they looked so cute in their outfits!
Playing with Chalk
Aunt Katy and Aunt Raegan took Audrey and Kyle outside to draw on the sidewalk.
Audrey loved the chalk.
Kyle and Audrey were trying to see what else they could draw on...oh look, a car!
Uncle Nic, Kyle, and Aunt Raegan
Aunt katie and Uncle Nic attacking Kyle with the chalk!
Audrey telling her "DD" that they needed more chalk.
Daddy was taunting Audrey with a gummy worm...
Once she got her worm, then she took her daddy out for teasing her!
Family Pic!
Uncle Nic was playing with Kyle...I don't know
which one was the child!
Mama C and Daddy D took the two grand-babbies for a walk
Bath Time!
Audrey and Kyle had a blast in the bath tub with all of the bubbles and measuring cups!
They thought it was play time ... again!
and piano time...
needless to say, Audrey didn't make it down for her 7:30 bedtime, But she was worn out! So was Mama C by the end of the trip. She had both babies sleeping in her room. Audrey was in her closet, which sounds bad, but actually she sleeps so well in the still quiet of the closet. Kyle slept on a palet by Mama C's bed. Thank goodness for grandmothers!
Cafe du Monde
Cafe au Lait and Beignets here we come!
Tanner was sick for majority of the trip,
but Nic and Katie were calling his bluff!
Christmas Time...
Since we only get together for one of the holidays, Thanksgiving or Christmas, we always have our Christmas time together.
Daddy helping Audrey open her present!
DD knew it was picture time...
Kyle and Audrey were like monkeys jumping on the couch!
They were in that delirious state, running on fumes as it is bedtime!
Audrey loved her Sesame Street house from Aunt Rae & Uncle Na! She likes to tell Elmo that it is "night night" time.
We bought Kyle a puzzle for his gift, thinking he would be so good at his ABC's and 1, 2, 3's... it was a good thought, but once he got it open, it took all of us on the carpet trying to put it all back together. Learned my lesson on that one. I had to apologize for getting it...not for him...he was happy, but for his mom and dad.
Broussard's...
Saturday we decided to go eat at Broussard's down in the quarter. We forgot about the Southern Classic, so we were 6 of 20 people in the restaurant. Lesson to be learned: don't eat in the quarter when events are going on.
At least we were in good company, although the food was less than par.
Raegan and Katie
Don't ask...I'm not sure.
Homeward Bound...
It was time to say good bye to Mama C and Daddy D...
It didn't take long...
We were all wiped out from such a good trip!
Until next time...
Great pics - so cute!! Audrey's expressions make me smile & laugh... I miss her so & can't wait to see her. And Kyle looks just like your dad!
