Easter Entertainment

Happy Easter!

Dying eggs Saturday morning was a hit!

Audrey had a lot of fun dropping the eggs in the cups and watching mom and dad freak out because all of the dye is going everywhere. Smelling the vinegar in the dye...

What did mommy learn? Dye eggs outside so I can enjoy it more!

She kept wanting to stir the eggs, like we do when we cook. We only had a couple dozen casualties!

Eskimo kisses for Mama!

After the church service at St. Francis, they had an easter egg hunt  for all the kids. Audrey made it all the way until the last 10 minutes, and then Daddy had to take her outside. Hayes was a trooper, and stayed with me. Thank goodness for nap time!

Audrey didn't know what to think about this egg hunt. It was filled with cut throat egg hawks! The big kids would swoop in, take the goods, and throw the empty egg down. I think her first egg hunt she liked much better.

Some of the other parents made their big kids give some of their eggs to the younger ones. Audrey didn't care. She led me around as we picked up the eggs together, and then just watched the rest of the action.

At this point, Audrey is 2 years old, and Hayes is 6 weeks old.

Doing what he does best...until Audrey wanted to hold him.

She did great holding him until she started looking in her Elmo easter basket. Then he slowly sank under her arm towards the floor. Mom swept in for the save as Audrey had her focus on the treats!

Hayes was awake for the festivities. Audrey helped unpack his easter basket.
But it was only too long before...

Hayes was back asleep and Audrey found the sprinkler hose Daddy had hooked up.

Then we setup for the egg hunt in our backyard. As we were hunting the eggs, she somehow tripped, on what I'm not sure, and face planted onto the concrete, busting her lips. Of course this occurs right before the grandparents come with lots of pictures. Isn't that how it always goes? A little blood, yes. A little scary, yes. 10 seconds later, crying because she spotted the next egg and couldn't get to it! At least it didn't last long, right?

Audrey didn't realize she had competition when we let the puppies out.

I hid the eggs around the yard after the puppies were out, and they wanted to play also!

Audrey was hollering at them, upset they were taking her eggs.

With a little encouragement, she started sharing...

until lil' Bobby (bob-tail) took over!

Easter was a success!
